Executive recruiter Steven Helmholz applies 17 years of professional experience in his current role as the head of En Garde Talent Advisory Solutions. Founded by Mr. Helmholz in 2008, En Garde provides a comprehensive range of services encompassing every stage of the recruiting process and counts Fortune 500 company Cognizant Technology Solutions U.S. Corporation among its select base of clients.

 

Prior to starting En Garde, Steven Helmholz held a number of senior-level positions at prominent European and American companies. He began his recruiting career in 1994 as a Senior Associate at Korn/Ferry International. An integral member of Korn/Ferry’s private equity, professional services, and global advanced technology practices, Mr. Helmholz displayed recruiting prowess that led to full partnership in the firm and a promotion to Vice President in 2000.

 

After nine years at Korn/Ferry, Steven Helmholz shifted his focus to internal recruiting roles at several major technology companies. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Helmholz served as Director of Executive Recruiting Solutions at Siebel CRM Systems, Inc., where he exceeded recruiting goals set for his first quarter at Siebel by more than 200 percent. He then spearheaded global recruiting as Director of Executive Talent Acquisition for Dell Inc., completing 68 senior-level placements in just over a year. In 2007, he secured an executive position at SAP AG, a German software company and one of the largest independent manufacturers of computer programs in the world. Steven Helmholz served as Senior Director of Executive Recruiting at SAP AG until 2008, after which time he devoted himself entirely to his business, En Garde.

 

Steven Helmholz completed the Executive MBA program at Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University. Mr. Helmholz’s other credentials include workshop training with David Maister, professional-services guru and coauthor of The Trusted Advisor, and Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
